Have u ever heard about Toastmasters? I think u will enjoy this club! It’s all about public speaking and leadership. Find out in website : http://www.toastmasters.org. There are already many clubs in big cities in Indonesia. Just try to come to their regular meetings. Cheers!

Hi All! I would like to share some tips I’ve learned if you want to be able to deliver good speech in English.
1. Get over any fear you might have of making mistakes. You will make mistakes.
2. Be patient with yourself. Learning any language can be frustrating, but frustration won’t help you, so let it go.
3. Grasp every opportunity you have to speak with people in English.
Mr. Har has posted so many wonderful English Speech here. Thanks, Mr. Har! Pick one topic that interests you the most and read it out loud in front of the mirror first, so you could watch how you pronounce every word and make sure your speech is delivered clearly and smoothly. Then, you could practice by delivering the speech in front of your friends or family! I believe you all will be able to become public speakers with enough practice! Good luck, Everyone!

Belajar Bahasa Inggris merupakan proses, sebuah aktivitas yang berkesinambungan, tidak terputus-putus dan intens. Santai tapi terus-menerus; secara wajar dan alamiah. Dengan kata lain… bertahap. Yang dasar-dasar saja dulu. Terus berusaha untuk menghubungkan aktivitas keseharian dengan Bahasa Inggris. Misal, lagi sakit gigi… (hehe), langsung ingatkan pikiran…”wah apa ya ungkapan kalau mau berkata: aku sakit gigi…” cari di kamus/buku/tanya teman. Oh ternyata “I’ve got a toothache”. Atau pas nonton TV, film-nya bagus… apa ya kalau mau bilang: “Film yang hebat, luar biasa…”
Hal lain biasakan membaca bersuara (reading aloud). Hal tersebut akan melatih lidah untuk semakin familiar dengan pengucapan kalimat B Inggris… (silahkan baca juga komen balasan buat Tari di atas…)

saya dulu sering sekali mengikuti speech kontes, tapi mengapa setelah saya di sma ini malah nilai b.inggris saya sangat buruk, berbeda jauh sekali dengan masa-masa di sma.
bagaimana untuk bisa memahami gramar dengan baik?
maaf maksud saya masa smp..
@Tari_ Yang jelas situasi berbeda. Waktu di SMP dulu mungkin Tari-lah yang paling menonjol di sekolah. Terus ketika masuk SMA, ternyata banyak siswa dari SMP lain yang lebih dulu mengambil peran Tari seperti waktu di SMP. Yaa… bintang lagi kurang bersinar barangkali, hehe…
Tapi, hal seperti itu tidak perlu menjadi masalah. Tidak perlu risau. Secara alamiah, step by step, Tari bakalan kembali meraih hal tersebut jika kemampuan Bahasa Inggrisnya oke. Bintangpun bakalan kembali bersinar.
Banyak aspek yang mempengaruhi seorang guru dalam memilih siswa untuk mewakili lomba pidato. Di antaranya, kadang ada siswa yang kemampuan B. Inggrisnya bagus, tapi sering nervous ketika tampil… Ada juga yang biasa-biasa saja, tapi performance dan pede-nya luar biasa. Kadang juga Guru menilai dari segi warna vokal, pronounciation dan intonasi ketika speaking.
Terlepas dari semua itu, satu hal yang pasti: tetap harus punya kemampuan Bahasa Inggris.
Grammar merupakan bagian kecil dari pembelajaran bahasa; tapi sering menjadi hal yang paling sulit. Jangan terlalu dibebani dengan hal tersebut. Tips belajar grammar bisa dilakukan dengan sering membaca teks bahasa inggris yang kemudian melakukan analisa sendiri. Sebagai contoh, kok kalimat A ada to be-nya, tapi kalimat B tidak ada? Yang ini menggunakan verb 1, tapi yang itu verb 3, dan seterusnya…
Gunakan buku referensi yang simple dan mudah dipahami. Nah, sambil sering membaca, Tari juga berusaha bisa menulis dalam Bahasa Inggris. Tidak apa-apa salah. Yang penting terus mencoba. Kalaupun salah, kan tidak lantas dipenjara, hehe…
Coba bikin posting/komen dg menggunakan bahasa inggris. Silahkan gabung di facebook saya dan kemudian komen. Beberapa siswa dan alumni saya sering melakukannya, meskipun just saying hi or hello… It’s okay.

Actually I’ve planned it since I started making this blog. I have got some materials (native speakers) related with listening (audio/mp3), and I’m editing them now. The materials should meet the requirements for the contextual teaching learning process in our country.

trimksih jg.
ada tips supaya g grogi: latihan relaksasi pernafasan. sederhana, tarik nafas dalam2 kemudian hembuskan pelan2 sampai terasa sensasi perut kosong udara, ulangi terus secara teratur. pada saat akan giving speech, lakukan hal tersebut satu atau dua kali. setelah yakin menguasai situasi & audiences, baru mulai speech.

Kriteria umumnya, rentang nilai 0-100:
1.pronounciation,intonation&style/performance:60%,
2.content/theme:20%,
3.time/duration-accuracy:10%,
4.grammar:10%.
